Brief Introduction of foreign teacher recruitment program
HPEAIE has been implementing a foreign teacher recruitment program since 2006. A total of more than 400 foreign teachers from countries such as the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia have been hired by some universities, middle schools, primary schools, and training institutions in our province. In April 2011, the association obtained the qualification from the National Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs to provide intermediary services for foreign teachers, becoming the first foreign teacher service organization in our province to receive this qualification. The association's foreign teacher recruitment program mainly focuses on bulk recruitment in the autumn, but also provides sporadic teacher hiring and consultation services in the spring and other times.
According to the implementation plan of the program, our association's overseas partners, including the British Council and multiple overseas organizations, select native English-speaking university graduates (bachelor's degree or higher) from countries such as the United Kingdom and the United States to come to China for English language teaching. Among them, there are graduates from top 200 universities worldwide. Our association recommends qualified foreign teachers who meet the hiring requirements of schools and educational institutions at all levels in China for language teaching.
To improve the quality of the program, strengthen the management of foreign teachers, enhance their understanding and knowledge of China's situation, education system, and teaching methods, the foreign teachers we recruit are included in the TEFL in China training program hosted by the Foreign Talent Information Research Center of the National Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs. Upon arrival in China, they undergo a two-week pre-employment training in Beijing, which includes TEFL in China certification training, Chinese culture learning, training on Chinese laws and regulations for teachers, teaching code of conduct, and classroom practice. This ensures that our foreign teachers receive high praise from the participating schools in terms of teaching ability and personal conduct.
Recruitment Process for Foreign Teachers in Autumn:
April-May:
The school signs a cooperation agreement with the association and fills out the "Consultation Form for Hiring Foreign Teachers". The association recruits and selects foreign teachers both domestically and internationally based on the school's needs, and recommends suitable candidates to the school. The school conducts interviews and other procedures to finalize the selection, and signs an employment contract with the chosen foreign teacher.
May-July:
According to the regulations of foreign entry and exit management, the association assists the school in preparing the necessary documents for the foreign teacher's visa application to come to China. Alternatively, procedures for converting the foreign teacher's visa status within China may be carried out, depending on the individual circumstances of the foreign teacher.
August:
Upon receiving the visa materials, the foreign teacher applies for a visa to come to China and enters the country.
September:
The foreign teacher arrives at the school according to the agreed-upon time and completes the temporary accommodation registration within 24 hours of entry. Within one month, they complete procedures such as medical examinations, work permits, and residence permits.
